What is Pitch?

Pitch is a fast, competitive trick-taking game for two teams. Every hand starts with an auction: players bid 2, 3, or 4 on how many points their side will take. The highest bidder names trump by leading their first card — that's the "pitch" the game is named for.

The four points up for grabs each hand are High (the highest trump dealt), Low (the lowest trump captured), Jack (the Jack of trump, if it's out), and Game (the team with the most card-value points in their tricks). First team to 11 wins — but miss your bid and you get set, sliding backward.
